PARQUET FLOORING
A sense of grandeur
Wooden floors in geometric patterns, tells the story of castles, classical mansions, galleries and museums. The Parquet floor dates back to the late 1600s and it was created by cutting small blocks of solid hardwood, usually of various colours and wood types, and then gluing them to a concrete floor in various geometric shapes to create a decorative pattern.
Parquet floors are now more popular than ever. The designs of a parquet floor add an artistic beauty to a hardwood floor. The most popular and common design is the herringbone pattern.
A big advantage of a Junckers parquet floor, is that it is made of solid hardwood and is extremely durable and versatile.
DESIGNING WITH PARQUET FLOORING
A parquet floor brings a classic elegance to an interior. A versatile flooring option, it complements a multitude of interior styles, from the most contemporary to the more traditional. The structural grain patterns and warm feel of solid wood combined with the angular, geometric pattern contrast beautifully to create a floor which has universal appeal.
Junckers offers three versions of this much-loved design classic – Herringbone, Herringbone Plank and new Twin Herringbone. All three floors are made in solid hardwood, made without the use of adhesives or harmful chemicals.
Herringbone – a classic parquet floor made in solid Oak; staves in a choice of two sizes 58.3mm or 62.1mm wide; and a choice of two thicknesses 15mm or 22mm. A Junckers Herringbone floor is delivered untreated to be finished in oil or lacquer on site.
Herringbone Plank – an updated version of the traditional parquet floor with longer, wider staves of solid wood forming the herringbone pattern. Herringbone Plank is available in Oak or Black Oak, delivered pre-finished with a factory-applied oil or lacquer surface; staves available in two sizes 20.5mm (thickness) x 140mm (width) x 701mm and 15mm x 129mm x 775mm.
Twin Herringbone – Junckers new parquet floor with a lively appearance, also delivered pre-finished, ready to walk on as soon as it is installed. Available in Ash, Beech, Oak and Black Oak, including Junckers’ popular Nordic white-pigmented treatment in Ash, Beech and Oak.
All Junckers’ herringbone floors are durable and hard-wearing. Made in solid wood, they can be sanded and refinished many times, extending their life beyond that of most other flooring options.
